Community Involvement

  • Water Safety Advocacy

Neptune Life Saving Club plays an active role in water safety advocacy beyond the shoreline, contributing to local, national, and international conversations on drowning prevention. Through participation in initiatives such as the Queensland Water Safety Summit, the National Water Safety Forum, and the World Conference on Drowning Prevention, Neptune representatives share frontline experience, community insights, and practical strategies that influence policy, training, and public education.

  • Gwongubungga Swim Program

Over each of the school holidays, Neptune played host for a three-day experience combining practical water safety with cultural connection. With support from the Royal Life Saving Society Queensland and certified swimming instructors, participants engage in pool sessions, creek swimming, and a day at the beach, all while embracing their culture through Country and water.

  • Next Gen Lifesavers

NextGen Lifesavers is a program aimed to engage children 8+ years in a series of educational and enjoyable activities centered around pool lifesaving sports skills and become the next generation of lifesavers in their communities. The project equips participants with essential lifesaving techniques and fosters values such as responsibility, teamwork and leadership. Neptune RLSC held 2 events over the summer school holidays.

  • Canungra Combat Challenge

In teams of four, competitors take on a course of obstacles, bush trails and soldier exercises while raising funds to support Legacy Brisbane and their work supporting veterans' families. C3 is the first event of its kind on an active military base in Australia.
Neptune Provides water safety for the river crossoing section of this event, usually plucking a few participants a year from the near freezing water and helping others from the muddy banks.
