Community Service

Becoming a lifesaver is satisfying, fun and rewarding. You can lead a fit and healthy lifestyle, become trained in aquatic safety skills, make new friends, compete in surf sports whilst giving something back to your local community.

All Training Provided

Whether you would prefer to stay dry on the beach or out in the waves, we have positions and the training to suit all. With our internal trainers, you will gain nationally recognised skills and training in CPR, First Aid and Bronze Medallion, as well knowledge and practice in water safety, radio operations and Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) operations. All accreditation provided through Royal Lifesaving Society Queensland RTO:5431

We Feed and Clothe You

All included within our extremely affordable membership fees, all patrolling uniforms are provided as well as lunch and snacks throughout patrol. For those that need to travel to volunteer, accomodation is available for a low overnight fee. If you’re a coffee lover, you also have access to one free coffee curtesy of Neptune Kiosk every time you’re on the beech patrolling.

Membership Types

Active Patrolling Member

From 12 years of age you can start patrolling in Tallebudgera Creek. Active members are expected to complete 2x 4.5 hour patrols per month. All training and gear is provided as well as lunch on the day of patrol.

Patrols run from an 8am start through to 12:30pm finish, or 12:30pm start through to 5:00pm finish, though please allow an additional half hour at the start and end of the day for set-up/ pack-up of equipment.

This is a great way to do your part in giving back to the community.

Associate/ Support Member

Associate/ support members are valued members of our club. Performing duties for our club off of the beach in tasks such as clubhouse duties, assisting with the beach wheelchairs and matting, advocating for and promoting our club at events and functions. You will not be expected to patrol on the beach.

Fair Play Vouchers

Neptune RLSC is a registered Fair Play Activity Provider.

Fair Play Vouchers can be used towards membership and/or participation costs (such as access to training, facility use and events).

Items not included in the Fair Play voucher are items such as club shirts and swimwear. Uniforms are included in the Membership fee.

To redeem a Fair Play Voucher for Neptune RLSC activities, fill in the membership form below and select the “Fair Play Voucher” option. Our Secretary will be in contact to collect further details.

Membership Requirements

  • All members 18 years of age or older must hold and maintain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

  • Complete a Membership Form

  • Pay Club Fees

  • Complete a Member Induction

  • Complete relevant training and awards including but not limited to First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion (Patrolling members only).

  • Abide by Membership Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct
