Neptune Clubhouse Feasibility Study
About the Clubhouse Redevelopment Feasibility Study
Neptune Royal Life Saving Club is undertaking a clubhouse redevelopment feasibility study to explore the best long-term solution for our clubhouse and the future needs of the club.
Our clubhouse plays an important role in supporting lifesaving operations, member activities, training and community engagement. As our membership, equipment and operational requirements continue to evolve, it's important that we consider whether our existing facilities are fit for purpose and what improvements may be needed for the future.
The purpose of the study is to assess potential redevelopment options, taking into consideration Neptune's operational requirements, storage, facility improvements, kiosk functionality, site constraints, opportunities for shared community use and overall project costs.
Any future redevelopment should aim to:
Improve facilities for members, lifesaving operations and training.
Provide opportunities for community groups and potential partnerships.
Maintain Neptune's control and ownership of its building and operations.
Accommodate future membership growth and increasing equipment requirements.
No decision has been made on the preferred redevelopment option. The feasibility study will consider the available options and provide a clearer understanding of what is achievable, practical and sustainable for Neptune in the long term.
Where Are We Now?
Neptune has commenced discussions with the City of Gold Coast and other relevant stakeholders to explore opportunities for the clubhouse's future.
Work completed to date includes:
Initial discussions between Neptune, Surfing Queensland and Council regarding potential partnerships and clubhouse redevelopment opportunities.
Receipt of a proposal from Surfing Queensland outlining possible involvement in a future redevelopment.
Onsite discussions with Council representatives to explore redevelopment options and site considerations.
Engagement of professional consultants to assist with the building assessment, design and planning considerations.
Initial discussions around shared-use community space, which Council has identified as an important consideration for future redevelopment.
The next stage involves gathering feedback from members, identifying the club's current and future requirements, and assessing the feasibility of potential redevelopment options.

Member feedback wanted
Our members are an important part of this process. Before determining what the clubhouse of the future should look like, we want to understand how well the existing building works for you and where you believe improvements are needed.
We are asking members to complete a short survey covering the current clubhouse facilities, layout, functionality and potential improvements.
Your feedback will help us:
Identify what currently works well and what doesn't.
Understand the facilities and spaces members would like to see improved.
Identify future operational, storage and training requirements.
Establish priorities to help guide the redevelopment feasibility study.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your feedback will help shape the future of Neptune RLSC.
